KOBUSHI Terms of Service

This is an English translation provided for convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Scope

These Terms set out the conditions for using the application "KOBUSHI" (including the desktop app and the web version; the "App"), provided by KOBUSHI (X: @kobushi_tekken; the "Operator"). By using the App you agree to these Terms.

2. Nature of the App (Unofficial)

  1. The App is an unofficial, fan-made tool that supports practice and study of a fighting game.
  2. The App is not provided, endorsed or sponsored by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. or its affiliates (the "Rights Holders"), and has no affiliation with them.
  3. "TEKKEN" and other game titles and character names are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Their use within the App is purely descriptive, to identify what the tool is for.

3. Data Sources

Frame data and move information shown in the App are based on public information from Wavu Wiki (frame data), TekkenDocs (move data and video links), RBNorway (frame data), and the Japanese guide site sorao.site (move details; presented in a processed form within the App). Rights to each source remain with its respective operator. The accuracy and timeliness of the data are not guaranteed (see Section 10).

4. Match Scan

  1. The Match Scan feature captures an image of the user's screen and identifies the character names on the VS screen, either upon an explicit action by the user (such as a hotkey) or while the user has enabled it in settings.
  2. Captured images and recognition results are processed and stored only on the user's device, and are never transmitted to the Operator or any third party.
  3. The feature does not interfere with the game's program, memory or network in any way (it performs image processing on the screen only).

5. User Data

  1. Sheets, cards, notes and other data created by the user are stored on the user's device (browser local storage, etc.).
  2. If the user signs in to an account, the data in the preceding item is, via the auto-save feature, also stored in the cloud (a database on an external service used by the Operator). Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
  3. Data may be lost when device or browser data is cleared. Use of the backup feature or cloud save is recommended. The Operator is not responsible for data loss.

6. Accounts

  1. An account (authentication via Google or Discord) is required to use the cloud save feature and the community features. The user is responsible for managing their account.
  2. The user may delete their account at any time from within the App. Deletion erases the user's data in the cloud (data on the device remains).

7. Community and Sharing of Knowledge

  1. The App includes a feature that displays and shares the knowledge a user enters (moves added to quick checks and cards, move notes, matchup notes, and the like; the "Submitted Content") with other users as the KOBUSHI community. In creating an account and using the App, sharing of Submitted Content is a condition of use, and no setting is provided to disable it.
  2. The user grants the Operator a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to display, distribute and reproduce the Submitted Content for the purpose of providing and improving the App and its community features.
  3. Only the knowledge the user enters is shared. Screenshots, and anything the user has not entered, are never transmitted.
  4. The Operator may hide or remove Submitted Content it deems inappropriate, without prior notice.
  5. Submitted Content that infringes rights or is otherwise problematic may be reported to the contact at the end of these Terms. The Operator will review it and take action such as removal as necessary.

8. Paid Plan

  1. The Operator offers certain features of the App (viewing community features, auto Match Scan, etc.; the "Paid Features") as a monthly or yearly paid plan (the Community plan). The covered features and prices are shown within the App and on the checkout page.
  2. Payments are processed through the payment services of Stripe, Inc. Credit card and similar information is handled by Stripe; the Operator does not retain it.
  3. Unless cancelled, the paid plan renews automatically each initial term (one month or one year), and the price in effect at that time is charged.
  4. The user may cancel at any time. After cancellation, the Paid Features remain available until the end of the paid period. No pro-rated or other refund is given for cancelling mid-term.
  5. Due to the nature of digital content and services, refunds are not available after provision has begun, except where the Paid Features were unavailable for a substantial period due to reasons attributable to the Operator.
  6. After cancellation or expiry of the plan, the data the user created (including adopted notes) is not lost (only the viewing and use of Paid Features is restricted).
  7. The Operator may change prices or the content of the Paid Features. If it makes a price change disadvantageous to existing subscribers, it will give prior notice within the App or on the official website.
  8. The Operator may provide the Community plan free of charge on an ongoing basis to users who create an account within a period separately specified by the Operator. This free provision ends if the App or the Community plan is discontinued.
  9. A minor purchasing a paid plan shall do so with the consent of a parent or other legal representative.

9. Prohibited Conduct

  1. Redistributing or reselling the App, or offering the App as your own service.
  2. Reverse engineering, including decompilation and disassembly (except where permitted by law).
  3. Bulk extraction, automated collection, or redistribution of the data displayed by the App.
  4. Infringing the rights of the Rights Holders, the source sites, or any third party.
  5. Any other conduct the Operator deems inappropriate.

10. No Warranty / Limitation of Liability

  1. The App is provided "as is". The Operator makes no warranty as to its operation, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
  2. Frame data and other information may differ from the game after game updates.
  3. Match Scan accuracy may degrade due to game updates or display environments.
  4. The Operator is not liable for any damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the App, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

11. Changes, Suspension and Termination

The Operator may change the content of the App, or suspend or terminate its provision, without prior notice to users. If it discontinues a paid plan, it will give prior notice of how the paid period will be handled.

12. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may amend these Terms. Amended Terms take effect when posted within the App or on the official website.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Japanese law. The Kyoto District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the App.
